Dave Pearce

dave pearceDave has worked with global clients such as Diageo, Reuters and Shell helping them to become more effective. He has organised and led mountaineering expeditions globally and his personal climbing portfolio includes numerous classic Alpine North Faces, "The Nose" on El Capitan and the South Face of the Washington Column. He reached 27,000 feet on Kangchenjunga without oxygen and in May 2003 Dave summited Mount Everest by its North Ridge. He was on Everest again in 2006 guiding a camera crew during the Army West Ridge attempt. Dave holds the Mountain Instructor Certificate and is an International Mountain Leader. He has worked extensively in the film industry with many well known outdoor adventurers such as Bruce Parry and Bear Grylls.

Dave Pearce lives in Sidmouth, Devon with his wife and three daughters. He left the Royal Marine Commandos after serving for twenty-three years. During this time he was involved in numerous operations around the world. He also mountaineered extensively around the globe, being a member of the first British ascent of Kangchenjunga (3rd highest mountain) without oxygen, and reaching the summit of Mount Everest as part of a Joint Services Expedition in 2003.

In 2005 Dave set up his own business, Peak Aspirations, offering a variety of services. These range from organising tailor made outdoor adventures, being an Event Speaker using his Everest Experience to inspire both individuals and business to reach their full potential, being a consultant helping to develop business strategy and management with a focus on high performance, to working in TV and Film production as a safety co-ordinator.

Dave also took part in a BBC production alongside Bruce Parry, of “Tribe” fame, re-enacting the Scott / Amundsen Race to the South Pole. This was shown on BBC 2 in August 2006 as six one-hour programmes. He also worked on the popular Channel 4 series Born Survivor with Bear Grylls shown in March/April 2007 and throughout 2008.

He returned to Everest in 2006 as a safety guide to a camera crew filming a documentary about members of the British Army attempting to be the first successful Britons to summit Everest via the West Ridge.

Dave’s greatest mountaineering achievement was in May 2003 when he stood on the top of Everest having climbed the challenging North Face.

Being part of a successful British Team, one that not only put a man on the summit but also performed what has been regarded as the highest ever mountain rescue, resulted in Dave receiving a military commendation, the BBC’s Outstanding Overseas Achievement Award, and perhaps the greatest honour of all …. The Blue Peter Gold Badge! The Everest Expedition received a great deal of media interest. Dave was a regular on the Blue Peter programme and they, together with all the British Press followed the team’s progress throughout their three-month ordeal.
